Sculpture: Honoré Daumier

Honoré Daumier (February 26, 1808 – February 10, 1879), is usually remembered as a French caricaturist and painter. His status is certainly warranted as his works are not only sharply observant but they seem to capture human movement and posture like no other painter.
But it is his sculptures -- of which there are only 30 small painted unfired busts -- that I find the most inspiring. This is one of them
