Petition for the 107

Solidarity with the Perth rail construction workers!
Touch one, touch all!

107 construction workers on the Mandurah to Perth rail line, members of the CFMEU, are facing fines of up to $28,600 each for taking industrial action in February. The workers took industrial action over health and safety issues and for the reinstatement of their union delegate.

These charges follow months of harassment, intimidation and secret interrogations of the workers by the Australian Building and Construction Commission (ABCC). The remaining 296 workers who went on strike in February still face the prospect of being charged.

This is the most serious attack on workers in decades for exercising their democratic right to strike.

We call on the federal government and the opposition parties to:
1. Abolish the Australian Building and Construction Commission (ABCC)
2. Repeal ALL anti-union laws

We also pledge our full solidarity with these workers.[
